Abstract
The catalytic reactor for duochemical reactions such as the simultaneous reaction of Isoamylene into Isoprene and toluene into benzene and methane consist of a cylinder with in and outlet connections forming the first reaction chamber and a multitude of thin walled, permeable tubes of a suitable catalytic material such as palladium alloy, arranged within it, forming the second reaction chamber. The tubes communicate an inlet with an outlet chamber arranged within the lid closure of the cylinder. The residence time and path is greatly prolonged, increasing the overall efficiency of the reactor, whereby mechanical strains on the tubes due to conditional changes are avoided.
