Abstract

Floors, sheet materials, coatings for concrete and roofs, road and airport markings, decks of ships, mouldings, consist of compsns. contg. CaSO4 alpha-semihydrate gypsum (I) and aq. resin emulsion (II) where (I): (II) ratio is such that gypsum takes up most of water in emulsion on setting or hardening. Pref. resin in a homo- or copolymer of 12C-alkyl acrylates or -methacrylates, or a vinyl resin, esp. a vinyl acetate and/or styrene polymer, and partic. a styrene/alkyl acrylate copolymer. Pref. water content is 15-35 (30) esp. 24wt.% w.r.t. dry gypsum solids. Dry resin solids wt. is esp. 19-35 (>15)wt.% of dry gypsum solids.
