Abstract

The basket of an overdriven pendulum centrifuge, esp. for separating sugar crystals from mother liquor, is supported at its c.g. by a swivel-joint, serving also to transmit the driving force to the basket. A pref. annular, elastic buffer is interposed to restrain the swing of the basket. The top of the suspension shaft is coupled to the motor by a flexible drive, and supported by a ball joint.
