Abstract

Homo-implants comprising compacted fragments of deproteinised human bone in the form of square-section nails, the cross-section reducing progressively towards the top, the ratio of the length of nail to the side of the square base being between 8 and 11. The nails are used for treatment of parodontopathy by implantation in the alveolar bone. The bone fragments are pref. from human tibia, and are degreased in acetone for 24-48 hrs. before being washed, sterilised and sealed in ampoules.
