Abstract

Candida guilliermondii H-542 yeast strain, separated from soil, is used in prepn. of albumin-fat bio compsn., contng. =9 wt.% N and =30 wt.% lipids, by continuous aerobic bacterial fermentation on a liquid nutrient medium contng. sources of N, P, K and Mg and petroleum fractions as C-source. Rate of flow through medium is 0.33-0.5/hr. at pref. 32-34 degrees C., pH 4-5; pref. using petroleum fractions of 240-260 degrees C. b.pt. as C-source. Prod. is a useful additive to animal and poultry foods.
