Abstract

The 2-p-chlorophenoxy-2-methylpropionate esters of esculoside (I), rutoside (II) and hesperidin methyl chalcone (III) are claimed. The penta-ester of (I), deca-ester of (II) and poly-ester of (III) combined the hypocholesterolaemic activity of clofibrate with the vascular system protective activity of the glucosides. The esters are prepd. by adding the acid chloride to a soln. of the glucoside in pyridine.
