Abstract
The defective portion of the blade is cut away to a carefully defined and controlled shape as defined by a standard template pattern. The blade is then placed into a two-piece mould having the work face geometry of a complete blade and a standard sized repair piece placed in the gap in the workpiece. Bonding then takes place by diffusion in the solid state at an elevated temp. under pressure, and in a vacuum.
