Abstract

Several slides each carrying transfer needles are movable on a rail and are each provided with a cylinder and piston assembly. The piston chamger of each assembly is connected to the corresp. chamber of the adjacent assembly pref. via the piston rod, and hydraulic fluid may be supplied or withdrawn from the chambers of the assemblies at each end. When fluid is supplied to one end and withdrawn from the other end, the slides separate by a predetermined amt., whilst the reverse operation causes the pistons to close up.
