Abstract

The device includes a guide, which may be straight or in spiral form with a slit along its width which is wider than that of the protuberance of the spherical object. The latter is guided into position in the slit where it is moved along the guide and given a rotational movement. Trimming discs are arranged beside the guide to remove the protuberances passing through the slit. The device removes the stalks from spherical objects, such as brussel sprouts, in a reliable and uniform manner, it is no longer necessary to manipulate each object by hand either before or during trimming.
