Abstract

Kneading apparatus with two kneading arms off-set at 90 degrees each fitted with two kneading bars, and with a planetary gear bridge or cover supported on the arms as well as a sun wheel with internal gear teeth, in which one kneading arm is connected to the sun wheel via planet-gear (c) keyed on to its shaft, while the other arm is connected to the sun wheel via the planet gear, (b) keyed to its shaft as well as in the planet gear (A) which meshes with the planet gear (B) and is supported on a shaft fixed to the planetary gear bridge, the kneading bars being slightly inclined to the vertical. The arrangement causes one pair of kneading bars to describe a hypocycloid path interlacing the epicycloid path of the other pair of bars.
