Abstract

A 2 - 4 OH polyol (1) with mol. wt. 1000 - 10,000 either a polyether or polyester polyol is reacted with (2) an organo polyisocyanate, (3) a blowing agent comprising water mixed with surfactant, (4) a finely-divided solid halogen-contng. polymer resin, and (5) a metal-contng. catalyst, the mol. ratio of -NCO to active H gps. being 0.70 : 1 to 1.35 : 1 using the one-shot or prepolymer process. Improvement comprises using a mixture of a polyol-soluble organostannous cpd. in amt. 0.05 - 2 pbw/100 pbw polyol, and 0.01 - 1 pbw of a polyol soluble organo-Sb or organo-Bi cpd. as (5). Pref. (4) is PVC of intrinsic visc. 0.25 - 2.5. Opt. a cyclic tert. amine may also be used as catalyst in amt 0.05 - 3.2 pbw.
