Abstract

Vinyl chloride is suspension polymerised in presence of a conditioning agent (I) in an amount sufficient to reduce the melt viscosity of the resin obtained and increase heat stability under strong shear stress. (I) is a normal straight-chain alpha-olefin, e.g. hexene-1, octene-1 or decene-1. The products have improved mouldability without deterioration of impact resistance, deformation temperature or resistance to chemicals.
