Abstract

Reformed gas is injected into the furnace at the 1000 degrees C level and also H and/or C carriers are injected, e.g. hydrocarbons, at the level of, or through, the main turyeres. Preferably the carriers are liquid, solid or gaseous or a mixture of these, and the composition of the mixture can vary as a function of time.
