Abstract
A mixture of powdered thermoplastic material, e.g. PVC or polyethylene, and gel forming pulverized resin e.g. polyacrylic or polymethacrylic acid, is sintered in sheet form and impregnated with sufficient concn. H2SO4 to provide the required volume of electrolyte when the battery is activated by the addition of water. Reduced size compared to other gelled electrolyte systems.
