Abstract
Coaxial cable made in a single operation by equipment which forms a metal strip into a conductor tube entering an extrusion die head which sheaths the core tube with a high dielectric thermoplastic coating with an integral helical flange formed by a slotted rotary head on the die fed by a subsidiary passage from the sheathing melt chamber. Esp. for making "Class B" air-insulated coaxial cable (standard not specified). Produces continuous lengths of cable with a stiffness easily altered by changing the pitch of the integral helical flange, by changing the ratio between the haul through rate and the rate of helix die rotation.
