Abstract

Clothes hanger has a pair of pivoted levers ending in wide jaws covered with compressible padding, pref. polyurethane foam or a flexible rubber or plastic substance, pref. faced with ribs or bumps for improved grip. For one handed operation a leaf spring holds the jaws open, and the pivot joint moves to lock the spring in use. Offers ease of use and adaptability (due to the deformable jaw faces) to grip positively items of different or varying thicknesses.
