Abstract

Foamable resin (polyurethane) components continuously mixed and dispensed as a broad curtain onto a travelling belt, support paper or sandwich panel by metering (thermosetting) polymer precursor solutions or suspensions onto a pair of rolls so that the reactive component coatings rise to meet in the nip which is maintained tight so that the film flows mix and reverse to drop onto the travelling belt, etc., passing beneath the nip. Wide front thin layer film mixing is more rapid, and homogeneous than using mixing vessels and (oscillating) spray heads.
