Abstract
The installation comprises a group of similar, closed vessels on the same level. From the top of each of the grouped vessels, a chimney rises to enter a common, closed header vessel at a higher level. Inside the header vessel each chimney extends slightly less than half way up the vessel space. The open end at the top of each chimney is pref. covered with a baffle plate. The lower part of the header vessel is piped separately to the lower part of each grouped vessel. All vessels are provided with inlet and drain connections, safety valves pressure gauges, thermometers, sampling and dosing points. Pipework and vessel connections are fitted with valves etc. as necessary. Used for fermenting and maturing beer, partic. high density beer. The installation is suitable for a semi-continuous brewing process which promotes faster fermentation and increases rate of prodn. Fast maturing at controlled temp.
