Abstract

They are improved by adding long chain aliphatic amines or their derivs. to the emulsion via the aq. phase. These amines act as synergists. Prefd. amine compds. are R-NH-CH2CH2CH2-NH2 (I) where R is C14-C18 aliphatic chain, R- NH-(CH2)3 n-NH2(II) where R is C14-C18 aliphatic, and n is 2-5, where R is C12-C18. The bitumen emulsions of this invention have better stability and better storage life than conventional ones.
