Abstract

Drainage and wire loading device to be placed on a zone with a double wire in a former in a paper machine in which arrangement a mechanical load is directed over the wires of the paper machine 40, 50, most suitably over their entire width. With the arrangement pressure pulses are directed against the fiber layer between wires 40, 50 or web W, with which pulses drainage of web W is promoted, formation of the web is improved and/or the cross profile with respect to different properties of the web is controlled, like drainage, distribution of filler, formation and/or cross profiles of retention. The arrangement includes mutually cooperating forming strips 66 and spring plate 11 which pulls toward wires 40, 50. The forming strips 66A1-66An are placed in turn before the corresponding wire loops 40, 50. The wire loading devices 10 which include a disk-like spring plate 11 are arranged to cooperate with said forming strips 66 within opposite wire loops 40/50. The side of the spring plate is arranged to pull essentially in the direction of the wires 40, 50 against the inside surface of the loop of wires 40, 50 in the area of the forming strip 66 within the opposite wire loops and/or in the running direction of wires 40, 50 essentially directly within it. <IMAGE>
