Abstract

The subject of the invention is a method for adjusting the measuring instruments on the measuring beam for pulp- web-like materials, in which method the measuring instruments 1 are moved relative to the pulp web substantially in the transverse direction by means of relocating devices placed on the measuring beam 3. The subject of the invention is additionally a device for application of the method. In the measuring beams currently available, the problem lies in the change in length caused by the thermal expansion of the measuring beam, which is different in the various parts of the measuring beam. This gives rise to alignment problems for the measuring instruments. In the method according to the invention, a part 6 located at the one end 5 of the measuring beam is moved by means of supporting devices 7 relative to the measuring beam in accordance with the change in length caused by the thermal expansion, such that the distance between those parts 6, 9 of the relocating device located at the respective ends 5, 8 of the measuring beam is kept constant. The device according to the invention incorporates a measuring beam 3, measuring instruments 1, relocating devices 4 and a supporting device 7, which is arranged to move the part 6 of the relocating device relative to the measuring beam. <IMAGE>
