MENETELMÄ JA LAITE KAASUJEN JA/TAI KIINTOAINEEN KÄSITTELEMISEKSI KIERTOMASSAREAKTORISSAMETHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING GASES AND / OR SOLIDS IN A CIRCULAR REACTOR
FÖRFARANDE OCH ANORDNING FÖR BEHANDLING AV GASER OCH/ELLER FAST MATERIAL I EN REAKTOR MED CIRKULERANDE FLUIDISERAD BÄDDREFRIGERATORS FOR BEHANDLING AV GASER OCH / ELLER FAST MATERIAL I EN REACTOR WITH CIRCULAR FLUIDISERAD BÄDD
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for treating gases and / or solids in a rotary mass reactor. The circulating mass reactor according to the invention comprises, on the one hand, a reactor with means for feeding gas to the reactor, a mixing section for mixing solids with gases and an ascending section for conducting a solids . The circulating mass reactor further comprises solids supply and discharge connections. In the method, the gases are introduced as a fluidizing gas to the lower part of the mixing section 15 to fluidize and convey the solids as a gas suspension from the mixing section through the riser to the particulate separator and increase the solids delay time in the circulating mass reactor by providing at least one slower vertical
Kaasut johdetaan leijutuskaasuna reaktorin sekoitusosan alaosaan kiintoaineen leijuttamiseksi ja kuljettamiseksi kaasususpensiona sekoitusosasta nousuosan kautta hiuk-25 kaserottimeen. Hiukkaserottimessa erotettua kiintoainetta palautetaan reaktorin sekoitusosaan. The gases are introduced as a fluidizing gas to the lower part of the mixing section of the reactor to fluidize and convey the solid as a gas suspension from the mixing section through the riser to the particle separator. The solid separated in the particle separator is returned to the mixing section of the reactor.
The FLUXFL0W ™ gas cooler 30, which operates on the principle of circulating mass and is equipped with cooling surfaces, as described above, is suitable, for example, for the dry cleaning of dusts, tars and gases containing other condensable components from the partial oxidation of biomass, peat or coal. With a large stream of solids from the waste separator to the mixing section or mixing chamber, the gas fed to the mixing chamber is cooled in a very short time to a temperature level where the harmful gaseous or liquid components in the gases condense and the tars become dry solids. The solids are then easily separated from the cooled gas.
10 FLUXFL0W™-kaasunjäähdytintä voidaan tarvittaessa käyttää myös kemialliseen prosessointiin, esim. rautarikasteen pelkistykseen. Monissa tällaisissa prosesseissa tarvitaan kuitenkin haluttujen reaktioiden aikaansaamiseksi aineen-siirtorajoituksista johtuen suurempi kiintoaineen (kierto-15 massan) viipymä kuin mihin FLUXFLOW-massakierto normaalisti pystyy. Kiertomassareaktoreissa on voitu todeta, että n.10 If required, the FLUXFL0W ™ gas cooler can also be used for chemical processing, eg reduction of iron concentrate. However, many such processes require a greater solids (circulating-15 mass) residence time than the FLUXFLOW mass rotation is normally capable of to achieve the desired reactions due to substance transfer limitations. In circulating mass reactors, it has been found that n.
Tarve keksiä keinoja vii-veajan lisäämiseen on ollut olemassa.80-90% of the pulp cycle is in the mixing chamber at all times and only about 10-20% in the actual cycle in the transport part formed by the gas channel, the particle separator, e.g. a cyclone, and the solids recovery-20 tube. However, the total delay in this mass cycle is usually only in the order of tens of seconds or a few minutes. There has been a need to find ways to increase the delay time.
It has been found that if the amount of solids in circulation is continuously increased to form a larger contact surface between the gas and the solids, one reaches the limit where the operation of the mixing chamber is disturbed and begins e.g. drops solids down and out of the gas inlet 30 at the bottom of the mixing chamber, and the system is overloaded.
Esillä olevan keksinnön tarkoituksena onkin siksi aikaansaada toimiva menetelmä ja laite massakierron viipymäajan 35 lisäämiseksi klertomassareaktorissa. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a functional method and apparatus for increasing the residence time 35 of the pulp cycle in a cleromass pulp reactor.
It is also an object to provide a method and apparatus for increasing the surface area of a reaction between a solid and a gas in a circulating mass reactor.
Keksinnön tarkoituksena on lisäksi mahdollistaa kiertomassa-reaktorijäähdytinrakenne, jossa on pienempi lämpöpinta 5 kuin tunnetuissa vastaavissa rakenteissa. It is a further object of the invention to provide a circulating mass reactor-cooler structure with a smaller heating surface 5 than in known corresponding structures.
Keksinnön tarkoituksena on vielä aikaansaada kiertomassa-reaktorijäähdytinrakenne, jossa on helpompi eroosiosuojaus kuin tavanomaista konvektiivista rakennetta käytettäessä.It is a further object of the invention to provide a circulating mass reactor-cooler structure which has easier erosion protection than when using a conventional convective structure.
1010
In order to achieve the objects of the invention, the process according to the invention is characterized in that the temperature of the circulating mass reactor is adjusted by heating surfaces arranged in the mixing section and / or the rising section in order to obtain the desired reactions in gas and / or solid.
Sekoitusosan ja hiukkaserottimen väliseen nousuosaan on järjestetty ainakin yksi hitaammaan pystysuoran virtauksen 20 alue, joka aikaansaadaan edullisesti suurentamalla nousuosan poikkipinta-alaa tällä alueella. Näitä alueita voidaan tarpeen vaatiessa järjestää nousuosaan useita. At least one region of the slower vertical flow 20 is provided in the riser between the mixing section and the particle separator, which is preferably obtained by increasing the cross-sectional area of the riser in this region. If necessary, several of these areas can be arranged in the riser.
Käytännössä nousuosan poikkipinta-alaa suurennetaan järjes-25 tämällä nousuosaan esim. sekoitusosan kaltainen leijutus-kammio, jossa kaasususpension virtausnopeus on pienempi kuin kammiota edeltävässä ja seuraavassa nousuosassa. Nousuosan poikkipinta-ala on pienempi kuin kammioiden poikkipinta-ala.In practice, the cross-sectional area of the riser is increased by arranging in the riser, e.g., a fluidization chamber similar to the mixing section, in which the flow rate of the gas suspension is lower than in the riser before and after the chamber. The cross-sectional area of the riser is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the chambers.
3030
The device according to the present invention for treating gases and / or solids in a circulating mass reactor is characterized in that the walls of the mixing chamber and / or the expansion part are formed by heat transfer surfaces. The riser 35 is formed mainly of a channel narrower than the cross-sectional area of the mixing section, into which one or more expansion sections are arranged, the cross-sectional area of which, for example, may be of the same order of magnitude as the cross-sectional area of the mixing section.
87147 487147 4
Laajennusosat ovat esim. leijutuskammioita, edullisesti spouted bed -tyyppisiä leijutuskammioita. Spouted bed -tyyppinen leijutuskammio on esim. muodostettu ylöspäin laajenevasta kartiomaisesta alaosasta, lieriömäisestä 5 keskiosasta ja ylöspäin suippenevasta kartiomaisesta yläosasta. Kammion alaosassa on yksinkertainen sisääntulo-aukko kaasujen johtamiseksi kammioon. The expansion parts are e.g. fluidization chambers, preferably spouted bed type fluidization chambers. The spouted bed type fluidizing chamber is formed, for example, by an upwardly expanding conical lower part, a cylindrical central part and an upwardly tapering conical upper part. The lower part of the chamber has a simple inlet for the introduction of gases into the chamber.
Spouted bed -tyyppinen kammiorakenneratkaisu soveltuu 10 käytettäväksi erikoisesti käsiteltäessä kuumia pölyisiä kaasuja, jotka sisältävät ainakin osittain sulassa muodossa olevaa kiintoainetta, joka helposti tukkii muunlaiset sisäänsyöttöratkaisut, esim. tavanomaisen leijukerrosarinan. The spouted bed type chamber structure solution is particularly suitable for use in the treatment of hot dusty gases containing at least a partially molten solid that easily clogs other types of inlet solutions, e.g. a conventional fluidized bed grate.
Tämä on myös tärkeä syy siihen, miksi FLUXFL0W™-reaktorin 15 sekoituskammio on spouted bed -tyyppinen leijutuskammio. This is also an important reason why the mixing chamber of the FLUXFL0W ™ reactor 15 is a spouted bed type fluidization chamber.
Keksinnön mukaisessa ratkaisussa sekoitusosan ja/tai laajennusosan muodostavan leijutuskammion seinät on edullisesti osittain tai kokonaan muodostettu lämpöpinnoista 20 lämpötilan säätämiseksi sopivaksi kiertomassareaktorissa. In the solution according to the invention, the walls of the fluidization chamber forming the mixing section and / or the expansion section are preferably partially or completely formed of heat surfaces 20 to adjust the temperature to suit in a circulating mass reactor.
Edullisen ratkaisun mukaan kammioiden kartiomaiset alaosat on muodostettu lämpöpinnoista.According to a preferred solution, the conical lower parts of the chambers are formed from thermal surfaces.
With the solution according to the invention, it is simply possible to slow down the vertical flow of both gas and especially solids in the riser of the circulating mass reactor and thereby increase the delay time and the reaction area between the gas and solids.
30 Keksinnön mukainen menetelmä soveltuu kaikkien sellaisten hienojakoisten aineiden käsittelyyn, joihin kiertomassareak-tori soveltuu ja joissa tarvitaan prosessointiin viiveai-kaa/reaktiopintaa.The process according to the invention is suitable for the treatment of all fines for which a circulating mass reactor is suitable and for which a delay time / reaction surface is required for processing.
Kuumalla kaasulla voidaan esim. The method according to the invention is suitable for the treatment of both solids and gases. In the circulating mass reactor 1, the reactions can take place in solid or gas or both at the same time. With hot gas, e.g.
i i t j 87147 5 aikaansaada toivottuja reaktioita kiintoaineessa ja kylmällä kaasulla vastaavasti estää tai hidastaa ei toivottuja reaktioita kiintoaineessa tai mahdollisesti myös aikaansaada toivottuja reaktioita. Kaasua kylmemmällä kiintoaineella 5 voidaan jäähdyttää kuuma prosessikaasu ei toivottujen reaktioiden loppumiseksi kaasuissa. Kiertomassareaktorissa voidaan myös ajatella kierrätettävän kahta eri kiintoainetta, jotka esim. kuumien kaasujen vaikutuksesta reagoivat keskenään.i i t j 87147 5 to cause the desired reactions in the solid and with the cold gas, respectively, to prevent or slow down the undesired reactions in the solid, or possibly also to cause the desired reactions. The gas-colder solid 5 can be used to cool the hot process gas to eliminate undesired reactions in the gases. In a circulating mass reactor, it is also conceivable to recycle two different solids which, for example, react with each other under the influence of hot gases.
1010
Reaction processes to which the process according to the invention is suitable are, for example, reduction and oxidation, but also catalytic reactions in which the object of the processing is the gas itself. In this case, the mass circulation is formed by the catalyst used in process 15.
Rakenteellisesti keksinnössä on edullisesti kysymyksessä kiertomassareaktori, jossa reaktiolämpötila voidaan tarvittaessa virittää kohdalleen siihen sijoitetun lämpöplnnan 20 tai lämpöpintojen avulla. Lämpötila voidaan säätää sopivaksi sekoitusosaan tai nousuosaan sovitetuilla lämpöpinnoil-la toivottujen reaktioiden aikaansaamiseksi kaasussa ja/tal kiertomassareaktorissa kiertävässä kiintoaineessa.Structurally, the invention is preferably a circulating mass reactor in which the reaction temperature can, if necessary, be set by means of a heating plate 20 or heating surfaces placed therein. The temperature can be adjusted to accommodate the desired reactions in the gas and / or circulating mass reactor in the circulating solid by means of thermal surfaces arranged in the mixing section or riser.
Under the conditions determined by the composition, pressure and temperature of the process gas, a solid can be processed in the circulating mass reactor, which at the same time forms the mass cycle of the circulating mass reactor. An example of such an application is the preheating and preheating of an iron concentrate, in which the concentrate 30 is preheated with hot process gas from an iron smelting process. When the reduction temperature range is preferably 800 to 950 ° C, a cooling surface has to be built in the pulp reactor to maintain this temperature, since the pre-heating of the concentrate and possibly the pre-reduction does not provide sufficient cooling. However, the calculations show that the heating surface is only needed in this case, e.g. in the lowest unit, i.e. in the mixing section. The required cooling surfaces are preferably placed as wall surfaces, most preferably in the lower cones of the spouted bed units.
Tavanomaisissa konvektiolämmönsiirtimissä, kuten esim. kiertomassareaktorin nousuosassa hiukkastiheys on lämpöpin-tojen kohdalla pienempi ja hiukkaset pyrkivät kulkemaan 15 pintoja pitkin koska turbulenssi on vähäisempää.The cooled conical portions of the mixing section or extensions have a remarkably good heat transfer efficiency per heating surface when compared to a convection heat surface built with a dense pipe section placed in a conventional gas channel and its cooling capacity. Heat transfer to the walls of a spouted bed type fluidization chamber is efficient because, on the one hand, the suspension density is high at the walls and, on the other hand, there is good turbulence in the chamber. In conventional convection heat exchangers, such as in the riser of a circulating mass reactor, the particle density is lower at the heating surfaces and the particles tend to travel along the surfaces because the turbulence is less.
Useammalla päällekkäisellä jäähdytetyllä spouted bed -tyyppisellä laajennusosalla saavutetaan siten erittäin hyvä jäähdytysteho. Keksinnön mukaisen edullisen rakenteen 20 yksi huomattava etu onkin siinä, että sillä selvitään aikaisemmin tunnettuja ratkaisuja pienemmällä lämpöpinnalla. With several overlapping cooled spouted bed-type expansion parts, a very good cooling performance is thus achieved. One considerable advantage of the preferred structure 20 according to the invention is that it overcomes previously known solutions with a smaller thermal surface.
Sovittamalla lämpöpinta spouted bed -tyyppisen kammion alakartion seinämään myös eroosion esto on huomattavasti 25 helpompi kuin kammion sisään sovitettujen konvektlolämpö-pintojen eroosion esto.By fitting the heating surface to the wall of the lower cone of a spouted bed type chamber, the prevention of erosion is also considerably easier than the prevention of erosion of the convective heat surfaces arranged inside the chamber.
Eräs variantti keksinnön mukaisesta rakenteesta on sellainen, jossa lisäksi päällekkäisten leijutuskammioiden 30 yhdysosa rakennetaan putkilämpöpintana, siis siten, että jäähtyvä kaasu ajetaan usean vierekkäisen pystysuoran jäähdytysputken läpi, jolloin lämpö siirtyy jäähdytysväliai-neeseen. Tällä tavoin saadaan tarvittaessa muodostetuksi lisää lämpöpintaa rakenteeseen.A variant of the structure according to the invention is one in which, in addition, the connecting part of the overlapping fluidization chambers 30 is constructed as a pipe heating surface, i.e. so that the cooling gas is passed through several adjacent vertical cooling pipes, whereby heat is transferred to the cooling medium. In this way, if necessary, an additional thermal surface can be formed in the structure.
Kiintoaineiden raekokoa voidaan säätää esim. jauhatuksella sellaiseksi, että hiukkastiheyden huomioon ottaen niitä voidaan prosessoida kiertomassareaktorissa valitsemalla 35 7 87147 kaasun pystysuorat virtausnopeudet sopiviksi. Tyypillinen raekokoalue on 10-500 pm. Tyypilliset virtausnopeudet ovat spouted bed -yksikön sisääntuloissa 5 - 100 m/s ja itse petien suurimman poikkipinnan aluella 1-10 m/s.The grain size of the solids can be adjusted, for example, by grinding, so that, taking into account the particle density, they can be processed in a circulating mass reactor by selecting 35 7 87147 vertical gas flow rates as suitable. A typical grain size range is 10-500 pm. Typical flow velocities are 5 to 100 m / s at the inlets of the spouted bed unit and 1-10 m / s in the largest cross-sectional area of the beds themselves.

Keksinnön mukaisella ratkaisulla saavutetaan mm. seuraavia etuja: - kiintoaineen viiveaikaa pystytään lisäämään massakierros-sa; 10 - kiintoaineen kaasun kanssa kontaktissa olevaa reaktiopin-ta-alaa pystytään lisäämään; - kiintoaine on sekoitusosan jälkeisessä nousuosassa hyvässä kosketuksessa kaasun kanssa; - käytettäessä seinälämpöpintoja laajennusosassa lämpöpin-15 tojen kokonaistarve pienenee, ja - voidaan käyttää edullisia seinälämpöpintoja eroosioalt-tiiden konvektiopintojen sijasta. With the solution according to the invention, e.g. the following advantages: the solids delay time can be increased in the pulp cycle; 10 - the reaction surface area in contact with the solid gas can be increased; - the solid is in good contact with the gas in the riser after the mixing section; - when using wall heating surfaces in the expansion part, the total need for heating surfaces is reduced, and - advantageous wall heating surfaces can be used instead of erosion-prone convection surfaces.
Keksintöä selostetaan seuraavassa lähemmin viittaamalla 20 oheisiin piirustuksiin, joissaThe invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which

Lisäksi sekoituskammioon on muodostettu aukko 24 kiintoaineen palauttamiselle palautusputkesta 18.Figure 1 shows a circulating mass reactor 10 comprising a mixing chamber 12, a gas duct 14, a particle separator 16 and a solids return pipe 18. The separator in this case is a cyclone. The mixing chamber has a gas inlet 35 20 and a solids supply connection 22. In addition, an opening 24 is provided in the mixing chamber for returning solids from the return pipe 18.
87147 887147 8
Kaasukanavan yläosa 26 on yhteellä 28 yhdistetty sykloniin 16. Sykloni on yhdistetty kaasunpoistokanavaan 30 ja palautusputken 18 yläosaan. Palautusputkeen on järjestetty kiintoaineen poistoyhde 32, josta reaktorissa käsiteltyä 5 kiintoainetta voidaan poistaa massakierrosta. The upper part 26 of the gas duct is connected by a connection 28 to the cyclone 16. The cyclone is connected to the degassing duct 30 and to the upper part of the return pipe 18. The return pipe is provided with a solids removal connection 32, from which the solids 5 treated in the reactor can be removed from the pulp cycle.
In the solution shown in Figure 1, the gas duct is formed by risers 34 and 35 narrower than the mixing chamber and by two spouted bed type fluidisation chambers 36 and 10 38. The fluidization chambers form two expansion sections in the gas duct, in particular the vertical flow rate of solids decreases.
Kartiomaiset alaosat on tässä ratkaisussa muodostettu jäähdytyspinnoista 52 ja 54.The fluidizing chambers are formed of the following overlapping portions: upwardly expanding conical lower portions 40 and 42, cylindrical central portions 44 and 46, and upwardly tapering conical upper portions 48 and 50. In this solution, the conical lower portions are formed of cooling surfaces 52 and 54.
2020
Kartiomaisen alaosan seinät on muodostettu lämpöpin-^ noista 62.The mixing chamber is also formed of a conical lower portion 56, a cylindrical central portion 58 and a conical upper portion 60. The walls of the conical lower portion are formed of thermal surfaces 62.
When treating the solid with hot process gas in the reactor of Figure 1, the hot process gas is fed through orifice 20 to a mixing chamber 12 where the gas mixes with the cooled solid 30 from the return pipe 18. The temperature of the process gas drops rapidly as the heat is transferred to the solid. Some of the heat is also efficiently transferred to the heating surfaces 62 and can be recovered.
If necessary, untreated solids can be added to the mixing chamber from outside the pulp cluster 35 via 22 to the system. Correspondingly, the treated solid can be removed with a total of 32. The feeding and removal of the solid can, of course, also be arranged to take place elsewhere.

Sekoituskammiosta kaasu-klintoainesuspensio nousee kanavan 34 kautta kaasukanavan tai nousukanavan ensimmäisen laajennusosaan 36. Laajennusosa on ns. spouted bed -tyyppinen 5 leijutuskammio, kuten on myös sekoituskammio. Kuuma kaa-sususpensio työntyy kammion keskikohdassa syvälle kammioon, virtausnopeuden kuitenkin hidastuessa poikkipinta-alan laajetessa. Samalla alkaa pystyvirtauksen lisäksi tapahtua sivuttaisvirtausta ja erikoisesti kiintoaineen kohdalla 10 leijutuskammion reuna-alueilla myös alaspäin suuntautuvaa virtausta. Alaspäin vlrtaava kiintoaine virtaa sisääntulo-aukkoa kohti ja kohtaa aukosta sisään tulevan kaasususpensi-on, joka uudelleen leijuttaa kiintoaineen ylöspäin. Näin kammiossa syntyy sisäinen kiintoaineen kierto. Osa kiintoai-15 neesta virtaa ylöspäin yhteen 35 kauttaa toiseen leijutus-kammioon 38, jossa tapahtuu sama sisäinen kiintoaineen kierto kuin edellisessä kammiossa. Leijutuskammioilla pystytään kiintoaineen viipymäaikaa nousuosassa 14 lisäämään huomattavasti. Lisäksi kammioihin sovitetuilla lämpöpinnoil-20 la 52 ja 54 pystytään massakierron lämpötila tarvittaessa säätämään sopivaksi. From the mixing chamber, the gas-substance suspension rises through the channel 34 to the first expansion part 36 of the gas channel or riser. The expansion part is the so-called spouted bed type 5 fluidizing chamber, as is the mixing chamber. The hot gas suspension protrudes deep into the chamber at the center of the chamber, however, as the flow rate slows as the cross-sectional area expands. At the same time, in addition to the vertical flow, a lateral flow begins and, especially in the case of solids, also a downward flow in the edge areas of the fluidization chamber 10. The downwardly flowing solid flows toward the inlet and encounters the gas suspension entering from the orifice, which again fluidizes the solid upward. This creates an internal circulation of solids in the chamber. A portion of the solids 15 flows upwardly through one of the 35 fluidization chambers 38, where the same internal solids circulation occurs as in the previous chamber. With the fluidization chambers, the residence time of the solid in the riser 14 can be considerably increased. In addition, the heating surfaces 52 and 54 arranged in the chambers make it possible to adjust the temperature of the pulp circulation to suit, if necessary.
Kammiosta 38 tulevan kaasususpension virtausnopeus saadaan kapeassa kanavassa 28 jälleen nostettua syklonierottimen 16 25 toiminnan vaatimalle tasolle. Kanava 28 johtaa kaasususpension tangentiaalisesti syklonin pyörrekammioon. The flow rate of the gas suspension coming from the chamber 38 can be raised again in the narrow channel 28 to the level required for the operation of the cyclone separator 16 25. Channel 28 leads the gas suspension tangentially to the cyclone vortex chamber.
Kuviossa 2 on esitetty toinen sovellutusmuoto keksinnöstä. Kuviossa 2 on soveltuvin osin käytetty samoja viitenumerotta 30 kuin kuviossa 1. Kuvion 2 kiertomassareaktori eroaa kuvion 1 reaktorista siinä, että toisen leijutuskammion 38 sijasta on ensimmäisen leijutuskammion 36 päälle kaasukanavaan sovitettu putkilämmönvaihdin 64.Figure 2 shows another embodiment of the invention. In Fig. 2, the same reference numerals 30 as in Fig. 1 have been used, where applicable. The circulating mass reactor of Fig. 2 differs from the reactor of Fig. 1 in that instead of the second fluidizing chamber 38 a tubular heat exchanger 64 is arranged in the gas duct 36.
A tubular heat exchanger in which the gas passes through the tubes is arranged directly in the upper part of the chamber 36 so that the gas suspension from the chamber 36 is directed to pass through the pipes 66 into the channel 28 leading to the gas suspension cyclone. In the tube heat exchanger, the gas suspension transfers heat to the cooling medium 68 surrounding the tubes 66, which may be e.g. water.
5 Kuvassa 3 on esitetty poikkileikkaus putkilämmönvaihti-mesta 64.Figure 3 shows a cross-section of a tube heat exchanger 64.
The invention is not intended to be limited to the embodiments shown as application examples, but can be applied within the scope of the inventive idea limited by the 10 claims. Thus, for example, heat transfer surfaces are by no means necessary in all processes. An appropriate number of expansion parts can always be selected according to the process parameters. When handling colder and less polluting gases, it is also possible to consider the use of conventional fluidized bed solutions instead of spouted bed solutions.
