Claims (14)

PATENTTIVAATIMUKSETPATENT CLAIMS 1. A method of producing a stabilizer for a biodiesel composition, wherein the method comprises: providing lignin for use; and subjecting the lignin to a depolymerization method, which is a base-catalyzed decomposition method or an enzymatic depolymerization method, to obtain a depolymerized lignin having a weight average molecular weight of at least 360 g/mol and not more than 5,000 g/mol, for increasing the antioxidant capacity of the lignin, wherein the TEAC value of the depolymerized lignin (Trolox -equivalent antioxidant capacity) is at most 50% of the TEAC value of the corresponding lignin before it is depolymerized, and where the weight average molecular weight of the depolymerized lignin is at most 60% of the Pweight average molecular weight of the corresponding lignin, where the corresponding lignin is the same lignin molecule as the depolymerized lignin, but before it is depolymerized . 2.
