Description

Fuel supply system
The invention relates to a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine according to the preamble of claim 1. The invention furthermore relates to an arrangement of an accumulator unit, a pressure limiting valve and a flushing valve of such a fuel supply system.
Fig. 1 shows the fundamental construction of a common rail fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine known from the prior art. This construction is known from DE 101 57 135 B4. Thus, the common rail fuel supply system of Fig. 1 comprises at least one injector 1 each for each cylinder of the internal combustion engine. By way of the injectors 1, fuel can be injected into each of the cylinders of the internal combustion engine. The common rail fuel supply system furthermore comprises a pumping device 3 comprising at least one low-pressure pump 5, at least one high-pressure pump 2 and a high-pressure pump accumulator unit 8 in order to deliver fuel from a low-pressure region 4 of the common rail fuel supply system into a high-pressure region 6 of the latter, wherein in the high-pressure region 6 between the pumping device 3 and the injectors 1 a pressure accumulator system 7 which is permanently under high pressure is provided. The pressure accumulator system 7 which is permanently under high pressure, which is also described as common rail, comprises multiple accumulator units 9. The accumulator units 9 are connected to the pumping device 3 and among themselves via high-pressure lines 10 which are permanently under high pressure. The pressure accumulator system 7, namely the accumulator units 9, are furthermore connected to the injectors 1 via high-pressure lines 11 which as a function of the injection cycle are under high pressure at times. The high-pressure lines 11 which are under high pressure at times depending on the injection cycle, which connect the injectors 1 with the accumulator units 9, are assigned switching valves 12, which feed fuel to the injectors 1 as a function of the injection cycle.
From DE 101 57 135 B4 it is known furthermore that one of the accumulator units 9 of the pressure accumulator system 7 is assigned a pressure limiting valve 13 and a flushing valve 14. In the case of fuel supply systems known from practice, the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14 are coupled on the one hand via high-pressure lines 15, 16 to the accumulator unit 9 and on the other hand via low-pressure lines 17, 18 to the low-pressure region 4 of the fuel supply system.
The piping of the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14 with the accumulator unit 9 via the high-pressure lines 15, 16 is disadvantageous, since because of this additional sealing points are created. Furthermore, the piping of the abovementioned components of the fuel supply system causes a confusing construction of the fuel supply system which requires a lot of installation space. The accessibility of the individual components of the fuel supply system is rendered more difficult through the piping.
Starting out from this, the present invention is based on the object of creating a new type of fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine and an arrangement of an accumulator unit, a pressure limiting valve and a flushing valve of such a fuel supply system.
This object is solved through a fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine according to claim 1.
According to the invention, the accumulator unit, with which the pressure limiting valve and the flushing valve interact, is assigned a valve block, which directly acts on the accumulator unit and which receives the pressure limiting valve and the flushing valve.
With the invention it is proposed that the accumulator unit, with which the pressure limiting valve and the flushing valve interact, is assigned a valve block which directly acts on the accumulator unit and which receives both the pressure limiting valve as well as the flushing valve. Because of this, high-pressure lines between the pressure limiting valve, the flushing valve and the accumulator unit of the pressure accumulator system of the fuel supply system can be omitted. Because of this, the number of the sealing points in the fuel supply system is reduced. Furthermore, the construction of the fuel supply system is simplified. The accessibility of the individual components of the fuel supply system is improved.
According to an advantageous further development, the valve block receives at least one pressure sensor, preferentially two redundantly operating pressure sensors. Preferentially, the valve block furthermore receives temperature sensors, namely a first temperature sensor interacting with the pressure limiting valve and a second temperature sensor interacting with the flushing valve. In particular, the valve block additionally receives leakage detection devices. By way of this, the construction of a fuel supply system can be further reduced. In particular when the or each pressure sensor and the temperature sensors are directly received by the valve block is the response behaviour of a control, which utilises the measurement values provided by the or each pressure sensor and the temperature sensors, improved.
According to an advantageous further development, the valve block comprises a high-pressure bore system, via which a storage volume of the accumulator unit is coupled to the pressure limiting valve, the flushing valve and the or each pressure sensor without piping. Preferentially, the valve block furthermore comprises a low-pressure bore system, via which the temperature sensors are coupled to the pressure limiting valve and to the flushing valve without piping. The low-pressure bore system is separated from the high-pressure bore system subject to the intermediate connection of the pressure limiting valve and the flushing valve.
This construction is particularly preferred. The high-pressure bore system and the low-pressure bore system of the valve block replace the piping via high-pressure lines and low-pressure lines required between the above-mentioned components according to the prior art.
In particular, the valve block comprises a leakage bore system, which is coupled to the leakage detection devices without piping, wherein the leakage bore system is separated from the low-pressure bore system and from the high-pressure bore system.
The arrangement according to the invention of an accumulator unit, a pressure limiting valve and a flushing valve for such a fuel supply system is defined in claim 10.
Preferred further developments of the invention are obtained from the subclaims and the following description. Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail with the help of the drawing without being restricted to this. Here it shows:
Fig. 1: a diagram of a fuel supply system;
Fig. 2: details of a fuel supply system according to the invention.
The present invention relates to a fuel supply system, in particular to a common rail fuel supply system, of an internal combustion engine designed in particular as a large diesel engine or marine diesel engine. The fundamental structure of such a fuel supply system was already described making reference to Figure 1.
The present invention relates to details of the fuel supply system, with the help of which in the region of the accumulator unit 9, which interacts with the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14, the piping effort can be reduced. Details in this regard are described in the following making reference to Fig. 2.
Thus, Fig. 2 shows that the accumulator unit 9, which interacts with the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14, is assigned a valve block 19, wherein the accumulator unit 9 directly acts on the valve block 19, and wherein furthermore the valve block 19 receives or carries the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14.
Furthermore, the valve block 19 receives at least one pressure sensor 20, with the help of which the system pressure which is present in the storage volume of the accumulator unit 9 can be detected by measurement in order to control the operation of the pumping device 3 as a function of this system pressure. Preferentially, the valve block 19 receives two such pressure sensors 20, which redundantly detect the system pressure that is present in the storage volume of the accumulator unit 9.
To directly connect the accumulator unit 9 and the pressure limiting valve 13, the flushing valve 14 and the or each pressure sensor 20 to the valve block 19, the valve block 19 comprises a high-pressure bore system, via which the storage volume of the accumulator unit 9 can be coupled to the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14 and the or each pressure sensor 20 without piping.
Furthermore, the valve block 19 receives temperature sensors 21 and 22, namely a first temperature sensor 22 interacting with the pressure limiting valve 13 and a second temperature sensor 21 interacting with the flushing valve 14.
In particular when the pressure limiting valve 13 or the flushing valve 14 opens, can the opening of the respective valve 13, 14 be detected via the temperature sensor 21,22 interacting with the respective valve 13, 14.
In addition to the high-pressure bore system, the valve block 19 comprises a low-pressure bore system, via which the temperature sensors 21 and 22 are coupled to the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14 without piping in such a manner that the first temperature sensor 22 is positioned directly downstream of the pressure limiting valve 13 and the second temperature sensor 21 directly downstream of the flushing valve 14 in the low-pressure region.
The low-pressure bore system is separated from the high-pressure bore system subject to intermediate connection of the pressure limiting valve 13 and of the flushing valve 14.
The low-pressure bore system comprises a common drain 23 for fuel for the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14 to the low-pressure region 4 of the fuel supply system.
Furthermore, the valve block 19, which is assigned to the accumulator unit 9, receives leakage detection devices 24, for the purpose of which the valve block 19 in addition to the high-pressure bore system and the low-pressure bore system furthermore comprises a leakage bore system, which is coupled to the leakage detection devices 24 without piping.
The leakage bore system is separated from both the low-pressure bore system and also from the high-pressure bore system.
With the present invention, the construction of a fuel supply system, namely a common rail fuel supply system of a large diesel engine ora marine diesel engine can be substantially simplified.
Thus, the valve block 19, which directly receives the pressure limiting valve 13 and the flushing valve 14, can be directly coupled to the accumulator unit 9, namely to the storage volume of the latter. Because of this, high pressure lines between the valve block 19 and the accumulator unit 9 and high pressure lines, which lead to the valves 13 and 14, can be omitted.
Furthermore, the temperature sensors 21 and 22 are integrated in the valve block 19 or directly received by the latter. Because of this, fuel lines, which carry the fuel to the temperature sensors 21 and 22, can be omitted.
Furthermore, the leakage detection via the leakage detection devices 24 is preferentially also integrated in the valve block 19. This ensures a further simplification of the design structure of the fuel supply system.
The present invention furthermore relates to the arrangements from the accumulator unit 9, the valve block 19 and the valves 13 and 14 show in Fig. 2, wherein this arrangement preferentially furthermore includes the or each pressure sensor 20, the pressure sensors 21 and 22 as well as the leakage detection devices 24.
With the present invention, a lot of piping, which is required with fuel supply systems known from practice in order to couple the pressure limiting valve 13, the flushing valve 14, the or each pressure sensor 20 and temperature sensors 21, 22 to the accumulator unit 9, can be omitted.
This is achieved in that a multiplicity of functions is integrated in the valve block 19, which directly acts on the accumulator unit 9, which interacts with the above assemblies, namely the function of the valves 13 and 14, the function of the or each pressure sensor 20, the function of the temperature sensor 21 and 22 as well as the function of the leakage detection. Because of this, not only the number of sealing points in the fuel supply system is reduced, the additional components or the assemblies of the fuel supply system are also more easily accessible.
