Abstract

The invention concerns a method during drying of a paper web or the like. In the method the paper web W is dried in a drying group R which applies single screen running in which the paper web being dried is supported by the drying screen F from the suction rolls 21 or corresponding rolls in a lower roll RA to the drying cylinders 20 and in an upper row RY on which drying cylinders 20 the paper web W is dried against a contact drying surface. In the method a pocket space T is air conditioned in the lower row, which pocket space is formed in an area bounded by two suction rolls 21 positioned next to each other for the screen F and a drying cylinder 20 with an air conditioning arrangement 10. Dry air is blown with the air conditioning arrangement 10 with a blowing part 11 and moist air is drawn in with a suction part 12. With air conditioning arrangement 10 an air curtain blowing P4 is also created with which moist air is limited to the pocket the space region and moist air is fed from pocket space D to the suction zone 12 from the air conditioning arrangement 10 situated in the next pocket space T in the running direction SW of the web. The invention also concerns an arrangement for drying a paper web or the like. The arrangement is positioned in a pocket space T in a lower row RA on a section that employs single-screen running in a drying group R in a paper machine or the like, the pocket space being formed in an area bounded by two suction rolls 21 situated next to each other for the screen F in a drying cylinder 20. The arrangement includes a blowing part 11 and a suction part 12. The air conditioning arrangement 10 also includes an air curtain blowing part 13 for air curtain blowing P4 to feed moist air to the suction zone 12 from the air conditioning arrangement 10 situated in the next pocket space T in the running direction SW of the web. <IMAGE>
