Abstract

Sliding gate principally comprising a baseplate (1) integral with the metallurgical vessel and a pivoting door (5) articulated on the baseplate (1). The rotation hinges and the device for locking the door on the baseplate can be placed alternately at various points of the gate with a view to permitting a choice of the direction of rotation of the door relative to the baseplate.
