Abstract

A microbial plant growth promoting compsn. (I) is prepd. by (a) growing a bacterial culture in a first nutrient medium under growth conditions to a cell density of 2-10 x 10 power 6 cells/ml., (b) growing an algal culture in a second nutrient medium under growth conditions to a cell density of 10-20 x 10 power 6 cells/ml. and (c) mixing the bacterial and algal cultures together and incubating the mixt. in a third nutrient medium under growth conditions at 10-40 deg.C to produce the final prod.. The growth conditions include a physiologically acceptable pH and temp.. The incubation in the 3rd medium is pref. for 1-4 weeks. The prefd. bacteria is B.subtilis and the prefd. algae C. sacchorophilia. The compsn. pref. also contains 0.5-2 vol.% soresepinium, 0.5-2 vol.% lipase and 1.5-5g/gal vitamin B-12.
