Abstract

Fuel rod comprises a longitudinal capsule (12) which is plugged at both ends (14) and (18) and contains several fuel elements (24) each having a central channel (26) and an outer smaller than the inner dia. of the capsule, thus there is a central channel and an annular passage (28). Between the elements and the upper end plug is a chamber (40) through which the flowing substance communicates with both the central channel and the annular passage These passages connect at the bottom of the rod so that there is a closed cercuilation circuit.
