EP----734 A Strands of fibre impregnated with reactive resin are wound or braided, immediately after impregnation or in the precure zone, with stretched and/or pre-oriented and/or texturised organic fibres or monofilaments or mixts. of organic and inorganic fibres or monofilaments and then post-cured. - Exactly circular, elliptical, flat or angled profiles can be made, without the use of forming nozzles, by winding shrinkable fibres around, e.g. preimpregnates made from flat tows, and a layer of pure resin is formed on the surface, without additional coating, which gives better weathering resistance. Omission of the forming nozzle allows microwave cure. Void-free prods. with high modulus and strength can be made more reproducibly than usual. The fibre distribution is uniform and fibre content high. The prods. have favourable electrical properties, making them suitable for use in the electrical sector.
