Abstract

The subject of the invention is a fuel injection nozzle unit with a valve member opening outwards, which has a stem and a head interacting with a seat. The valve member is held in its closed position by means of a spring. A piston, which interacts with the inner surface of the housing enclosing the unit is assigned to the valve member stem. The piston is adjusted by the pressure of the fuel fed to the unit under pressure and in the process displaces fuel through an outlet between the valve member head and its seat. The piston is part of a valve device which allows fuel to pass from the inlet to the outlet when the valve member stem has reached the end of its travel.
