PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DE DIHIDROXIALUMINIO-CARBONATO DE SODIO. CONSISTE EN PONER EN CONTACTO UNA SAL IONICA DE ALUMINIO CON UN EXCESO ESTEQUIOMETRICO DE CARBONATO DE SODIO EN UN MEDIO ACUOSO Y EN PRESENCIA DE HIDROXIDO DE SODIO, A UN PH COMPRENDIDO ENTRE 7,2 Y 10,5, UTILIZANDOSE POR LO MENOS DIEZ PARTES EN PESO DE CARBONO DE SODIO POR CADA PARTE EN PESO DE SAL DE ALUMINIO. EL DIHIDROXIALUMINIO-CARBONATO DE SODIO FORMADO SE PRECIPITA JUNTAMENTE CON EL ANION DEL REACTIVO DE SAL DE ALUMINIO, PERMANECIENDO PRACTICAMENTE LA TOTALIDAD DEL CARBONATO DE SODIO EN EL MEDIO ACUOSO, POR LOS MENOS HASTA DESPUES DE LA SEPARACION DE DICHO SUBPRODUCTO DE SAL DE SODIO. LA REACCION PUEDE LLEVARSE A EFECTO A UNA TEMPERATURA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE LA TEMPERATURA AMBIENTE Y EL PUNTO DE EBULLICION DEL MEDIO DE REACCION, SIN EMBARGO ES PREFERIBLE REALIZARLA A UNO 60, APROXIMADAMENTE.
