Procedure for obtaining alpha-alanil-2,6-dimethyl-aniline and beta-alanil-2,6-dimethyl-aniline. The synthesis of these derivatives is carried out in five steps. The first step consists of the protection of the amino group of alpha- or beta-alanine with ftalic anhydride to give the corresponding ftaloil-alanine. The second step consists of the formation of the acid chloride of the relevant ftaloil-alanine, which is carried out with a chloride of tionilo to reflux. Eliminating the excess of chloride is obtained the corresponding acid chloride. The third phase consists of the reaction of the corresponding chloride of ftaloyl-alanine with 2,6-dimethyl-aniline in a dioxane medium. A precipitate of ftaloil-alanil-2,6-dimetilanilin is obtained.
