Abstract

An electrical circuit breaker for low voltage installations has contact links (10, 12, 14) which can be pressed by spring force onto the fixed contact pieces (21-26). The contact links (10, 12, 14) consist of two contact plates (16, 18), arranged parallel to one another and at a distance from one another, which are pressed against one another by the force of a spring and, in the switched-on state, are pressed against the fixed contacts (21-26) from both sides. The switching on and off movement of the contact links takes place at right angles to the direction of contact pressure.
