Abstract

The holder (11) carries a wire-shaped eroding electrode (12) which is guided on the legs (13, 14) of a U-shaped holding stirrup (15). On the one hand, the holding stirrup (15) can be moved in two coordinates in accordance with a path predetermined by a scanning device connected to a lever (8). On the other hand, it can be moved by a motor (21) in such a way that the eroding electrode (12) describes the envelope of a cone with an apex (20) which coincides with the bottom edge of a workpiece (5) to be machined. To this end, the holding stirrup is connected to a circular-arc-shaped bearing (32), the axis of rotation of which runs through the cone apex (20). Via a movable coupling piece, the bearing (32) is connected to a second bearing of the same type which is arranged offset by 90 DEG from this bearing (32) and at the same height. The second bearing is movably connected to a bearing part (22). The drive motor (21) fastened to the bearing part (22) is in drive connection with the holding stirrup (15) via an eccentric and an auxiliary universal joint. This holder can be constructed simply and robustly and it permits the adjustment of the electrode (12) on the envelope of a cone with high precision of movement.
