Abstract

Un método de soldadura MIG con plasma en el que se mantiene un arco de plasma en una corriente de gas, se alimenta un electrodo consumible al plasma gaseoso producido por el arco de plasma y a través de la abertura para plasma de una boquilla, y se mantiene un arco MIG entre el electrodo consumible y una pieza de trabajo, manteniéndose el arco de plasma entre la boquilla y la pieza de trabajo, caracterizado porque, al iniciar el proceso de soldadura, se hace saltar primero un arco de plasma transferido entre un electrodo iniciador no consumible aguas arriba de la boquilla y la pieza de trabajo, se hace saltar luego el arco MIG y, por último, se conecta eléctricamente la boquilla al electrodo iniciador de modo que el arco de plasma sea recogido por la boquilla.
