Abstract

Method of preparing a hollow and substantially continuous semipermeable filament for a hollow fiber dialyzer, which includes a series of fibers of open ends and of substantially equal lengths formed from said continuous filaments, which method is characterized in that it comprises the operations to arrange at least one coil of said filament, to unroll said filament from said coil, to wind this filament on a take-up reel provided with a series of supports spaced for the filament, so that the latter forms a series of elongated straight sections, each of them endowed with a multiplicity of windings; retaining each of said sections and cutting said filament together with said support means to form a series of open ended fiber bundles.
