Abstract

Un método de condensar y/o polimerizar materiales que contienen lignina sulfonada para formar productos sustancialmente solubles en agua, caracterizado por someter el sulfonato de lignina, o un material que lo contiene, sustancialmente en estado seco y a un pH inferior a 7, medido en una disolución acuosa al 3%, a un tratamiento térmico en un intervalo de temperatura de 80 a 225ºC, para formar productos cuya viscosidad es al menos un 25% superior a la viscosidad del material de partida, medida en una disolución al 50% a temperatura ambiente.
