Abstract

Improvements in the couplings of electrically insulated pipes, consisting of a tubular metal sleeve in which, to provide its perfect insulation, two metal tubular elements that constitute the joint conduit and both with a flared end, for example flanged, are inserted the two opposite ends separated by an insulating and sealing spacer element, and forcedly compressed in the latter by metal or elements suitably connected to the tubular metal sleeve, and said metal blocking elements being finally electrically insulated from the above-mentioned tubular elements by means of elements rigid insulation, characterized by the fact that the insulating spacer that separates the ends of the tubular metal elements that constitute the joint duct has only the purpose of providing electrical insulation, so it can be made in a very rigid material with a very high resistance aa compression and because the flared or formed end of work of each tubular element is strictly connected to the aforementioned insulating spacer or inserted therein, so that it can be achieved on the coupling itself, between the tubular element of the joint, the tubular metal sleeve in which the latter is comprised and the insulating and sealing element, an annular groove in which a sealing gasket sufficiently elastic is placed tightly compressed to make a perfect seal along an extraordinarily reduced line of mechanical separation, said blocking and sealing element being formed by an insulating sleeve that ends on one side on a surface determined by a suitably shaped plane or section, in order to carry out in any case the sealing assembly of the aforesaid coupling, and on the other hand on a surface determined by a trunk-conical section on which is compressed will go tight and will flare the end of the tubular metal sleeve containing the complete embodiment.
