Abstract
A process for the production of a stable solution of a hydrogenated ergopeptide alkaloid of formula I ** (Formula) ** wherein R is hydrogen or C 1-4 -alkyl, except for butyl-t; R1 is methyl, ethyl or isopropyl, R2 is isopropyl, butyl-sec, isobutyl or benzyl, and X is hydrogen or methoxy, or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, or a mixture thereof, said solution having a dielectric constant of 50 or less, including combining the hydrogenated ergopeptic alkaloid with a pharmaceutically acceptable alcohol or a mixture thereof containing up to 40%, preferably 15 to 40%, of water for dissolving the alkaloid in said solvent mixture, conveniently in an inert gas atmosphere and excluding natural light, usually at room temperature and with agitation.
