Abstract
Refinements introduced into an optical system of the type intended to illuminate a target and including means for directing a collimated beam of electromagnetic energy in general towards said target and means arranged on an axis of the system and intended to focus said collimated beam on the surface area of said target from a direction substantially orthogonal to said surface, according to which said focusing means comprise bifocal reflective means arranged to have a first reflective focus on said target and a second reflective focus offset from the previous one in an axis of the system, and means arranged in the path of said collimated beam to focus said beam in substantially said second focus of said reflective means, whereby said beam falls from said second focus on said reflective means and is thereby reflected towards a surface area of the target.
