Procedure for producing a coated paper comprising preparing a latex composition comprising a mixture of: (A) 10-40 parts, based on dry weight, of an aqueous latex of a copolymer prepared from a monomer mixture comprising (1) 30-15% by weight of a monomeric acyclic conjugated diolefin, (2) 70-85% by weight of a monoolefinic unsaturated copolymerizable monomer, and (3) 0-10% by weight of a Carboxylic acid with olefinic unsaturation, (B) 90-60 parts, based on dry weight, of an aqueous latex of a copolymer prepared from a monomer mixture comprising (1) 0.1-5% by weight of a carboxylic acid with olefinic unsaturation, (2) 0.1-5% by weight of a carbonyl compound with olefinic unsaturation that is defined by the general formula H (R1) C = C (R2) - C (R3) = O, where R1 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 hydrocarbon radical, and R2 and R3 are hydrogen atoms or radica C1-2 alcohol (3) 90-99.8% by weight of monomers composed of 60-30 parts of a monomeric acyclic conjugated diolefin and 40-70 parts of a monoolefinic unsaturation copolymerizable monomer, free of carbonyl structures; adjust its pH to 7-11, make the latex with 1-20 parts by weight of load per part of latex (dry weight) and 3-30 parts by weight of an adhesive per 100 parts by weight of said load, so that the filler constitutes at least 60% by weight of the total non-volatile material in the latex composition, spread the processed latex composition on a paper substrate, and dry the coated paper.
