Abstract

A nuclear reactor arrangement including a nuclear fuel core arranged in a reactor vessel, control rods extending within the vessel to control the neutron flow in said fuel core and including mechanisms for moving said control rods to and out of control relationship with said fuel core, first retention means associated with said mechanisms for releasably retaining said control rods out of control relationship with said fuel core, and second retention means intended to be placed relative to said control rods to fixedly retain said control rods out of control relationship with said fuel core, characterized in that said first retention means comprise at least one magnetic lever mounted to pivot movable between a retention position, in which it is able to retain the rod drive shaft associated control means, and a displaced release position from the associated control rod actuation axis, and said second retaining means comprise magnetic means movable between a first position next to the magnetic lever to develop a magnetic force that retains the associated lever in the holding position, and a second-position away from the magnetic lever that allows the magnetic lever to adopt its release position.
