Procedure for the preparation of oxo-dihydro-benzothiazimine S-dioxides, corresponding to the general formula ** (See formula) ** where X and Y represent, one of them a single bond and the other a methylene group (CH2) and R represents hydrogen or an alkyl, alkenyl, propargyl, benzyl, carboethoxy, dialkylaminoalkyl, cycloaminoalkyl group or a group of the formula - CH2-COOR1 in which R1 represents hydrogen or an alkyl, dialkylaminoalkyl or cycloaminoalkyl group, or R represents a group of the formula ** (See formula) ** wherein R2 and R3, which are identical or different, each represent hydrogen or an alkyl or alkenyl group or a dialkylaminoalkyl or cycloaminoalkyl group or together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a heterocyclic amino group, or R represents an unsubstituted phenyl or chlorosubstituted or sulfamoyl-substituted phenyl group, as well as the acid addition salts of the compounds having a basic nitrogen atom, characterized by the fact that a compound of the formula R-NH2 condenses on an acid of the formula ** (See formula) ** in which formulas R, X and Y have the same definition as indicated above, or on a functional derivative of said acid, preferably chloride.
