Procedure for preparing a liquid, low foam stain remover, characterized by comprising the reaction of saturated or unsaturated straight chain fatty alcohols or synthetic alcohols with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide, isolating compounds of formulas I and II and by understand the homogeneous union of: 25 to 45% by weight of a water soluble compound, of the formula R1 - (OC2H4) x - (OC3H6) y - OH, where R1 means a straight-chain, saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical with 16 to 24 carbon atoms, while x and y signify integers worth 20 to 40; 25 to 45% by weight of a widely water soluble compound of the formula R2 - (OC2H4) z-OH, where R stands for a straight-chain, saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical with 14 to 22 carbon atoms, while z means an integer valued from 1 to 8; 2 to 10% by weight of a hydrotrope compound from the group of the alkylbenzene sulphonates whose alkyl groups contain from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; 0 to 15% by weight of water and organic solvents in a quantity not exceeding a total of 50% by weight and such that the viscosity of the agent, at 20ºC, is not greater than 500 centipoise.
