Abstract

A process for the manufacture of detergent compositions containing sodium tripolyphosphate by mixing pulverulent detergent components and spraying the resulting mixture with liquid or pasty detergent components, inside a turbulent air mixer, wherein sodium tripolyphosphate containing 20-100%, preferably 40-80%, by weight of phase-I material, is used. The bulk density of the sodium tripolyphosphate is greater than 550 gram/l., preferably 600-700 gram/l. The composition may include a thermally readily-decomposable component such as a perborate. Examples of anionogenic, cationogenic and non-ionogenic wash-active substances, which may be used, are given. An apparatus for carrying out the spray-mix process inside a turbulent air mixer is described.
