Abstract

An electromagnet driving mechanism for a timepiece comprises a ratchet wheel 8 driven by a pawl 7 on a flexible blade 1 magnetically coupled to a driving coil 6 receiving from a multi-vibrator pulses whose frequency is equal to the inherent frequency of the blade 1. The coil 6 is wound on a U-shaped iron core 5 which co-operates with a permanently magnetized pallet 3 on the blade 1 to vibrate the latter. The multi-vibrator is of a known type comprising transistors 17, 18 and a protection diode 21. In alternative embodiments Figs. 2 and 3, (not shown) the multi-vibrator is formed as a solid state circuit and the pawl consists of an escapement anchor disposed at one end of the blade 1 or between the ends of the latter. In a further embodiment the pawl comprises an arm carrying a pallet stove 32 Fig. 3 (not shown).
