Abstract

Improvements made to the manufacture of lightweight and relatively rigid, stackable chairs, comprising a frame including a pair of substantially parallel front legs, a pair of substantially parallel rear legs, a pair of substantially parallel lower bars, and a pair of substantially lateral bars parallel, the front ends of each lower bar being connected to the bottom of the adjacent front leg and each side bar being connected to the adjacent rear leg, seating and backing means secured to and supported by the frame and six connecting members three mounted to each side of the chair, two connecting members being secured to each rear leg, one above and one below the connection of the rear leg to its associated sidebar, and a third connecting member secured to one side front of each lower bar, the connecting members being intended to cooperate with connecting members of adjacent similar chairs to give a three-point connection between the chairs.
