Abstract
A friction lining comprises multiple yarns or strands and a binder in which some of the yarns are of "S" twist and the remainder are of "Z" twist, the proportions of "S" and "Z" yarns or strands are such that warping of the lining is reduced or eliminated. The binder may be of thermosetting resin, an oil, natural or synthetic rubber or any combination of these.
