Abstract
Improvements introduced in the manufacture of a fibrous absorbent reinforcement, according to which it comprises a plurality of glass fibers grouped in substantially parallel relationship and with surfaces coated with a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of: a) a plurality of discontinuous particles that they have such a diameter that is smaller than the diameter of said glass fibers, b) a resinous film-taking material which adheres said particles to said surface, and c) a coupling agent selected from the group consisting of organosilicon compounds having at least one organic group directly attached to a silicon atom, and chromium complexes of Werner, in which said glass fibers are spaced apart from their intimate application at the points of closest proximity between adjacent fibers, by the presence of said particles in said points.
