Abstract

The invention relates to a regulating and control device for pressure cookers with bayonet-type closures. Corresponding laterally projecting semi-handles are fastened to the pan body (12) and to the lid (6). The upper handle (22) contains an adjustable valve unit and a blocking element (29) which can deform the seal (41) between the pan body and the lid at the instant it is opened. The valve unit is made up of a support (1) having two regions of different diameter which form a step. The support is coupled by means of the step to a hole opening in the lid (6) whereas its lower half is provided with a thread. A union nut (7) holds the lower part of the sleeve (1) securely on the pan lid (6). The union nut (7) has in a lower narrow part an annular, spherical bearing (11) for an axial sealing piston (10). With the support (1), the piston (10) forms an annular chamber (14) which communicates with a steam outlet opening (15). The piston (10) is pressed against the union nut (7) by a spring (9). The pressing force of the spring (9) can be adjusted by means of a fork (9) whose tines are notched in a zigzag shape at the lower ends.
